This booklet is based primarily on the experiences and ideas of factory workers in Faridabad during 1982-1997.
This booklet is also an auto-critique of the theory and practice of Majdoor Samachar (and Kamunist Kranti).
In the period that the booklet covers, in factories most of the workers were permanent workers. Today the majority of workers in factories (in India to be specific) are temporary workers. But it seems that this has made the booklet more relevant.
The twenty five million killed in the 1914-1919 war had brought to the fore such horrific facets of hierarchy, purchase-sale, money that creation of a new society be at the top of human species agenda.
This did not happen. Hierarchy, money-market, wage-labour based commodity production continued in the world. As a result, fifty million persons died in the 1939-45 war.
Creation of a new society...The social system of hierarchy, sale-purchase, wage-labour based commodity production with their increasing horror continued.
Today, riding on the shoulders of electronics, production is increasingly putting very life on earth at stake.
In this scenario, now this lockdown in many parts of the world. Production in factories stopped. It seems to be a good opportunity to accelerate the creation of new society.
